Kumi and Pepper!

Cats are tons of fun! We have two cats, Kumi and Pepper. Kumi is getting a little on the older side, while Pepper is a little over one year old, but they still love to play with each other!

We have tried a few different products over the years of living with our cats. Some work a little better than others. We had one of these Cardboard Scratcher's but they always seemed to enjoy it way to much and it would turn to shreds in no time at all. Right now we use a simple piece of wood cut down from outside attached to a small piece of plywood so that it doesn't topple over. Don't worry, we live in a rural area and don't have nasty chemicals to be concerned about.

The best toys for our cats, other than a simple Laser Pointer, (which by the way, this one would be better than others, because it takes a single AAA Battery, Instead of those stupid little watch batteries), are these mice, which our cats go crazy over! Just be careful playing with your cats if they still have claws. There isn't much for them to target and sometimes they miss the mice and get your fingers!

As far as food, we buy Meow Mix Indoor formula.

We haven't done much research into other foods but our cats have always been healthy and energetic eating this.

We also occasionally give them these treats! They come running now whenever they hear a bag open, even if it isn't for them!

Someday soon we are thinking about trying this fancy litter box:
My only concern is that one of the cats, not naming names (Kumi), likes to pee on the very edge of the box. So right now we use two with a cover, like this.

Whelp, that is all for now! Maybe if I can get some motivation I'll post a few pictures of our cats.

Summer!!!

So, it's been a while. Summer is almost here! School is almost out! I don't know what the heck the girls and I are going to do this summer. I've got to figure something out or else we're going to drive each other insane. Anyone have any ideas? Not that anyone actually reads this, I'm mostly just talking to myself. Which is what usually happens because whose kids actually listen to them regularly??

Anywho.... The trees are finally turning green, there are still some that have yet to sprout leaves but they are always slow. The grass is growing and flowers are blooming. It's a great time of year. I cannot wait for the warmth of the summer though.

I hope that you, whoever you are that is reading this, has a great week.

Usborne Books & More

So, I've been an independent consultant for Usborne Books and More since January 11th, 2016. I started because I wanted to have some spending income and to help pay for household things. James works full time to support the family and I felt like I had lost sight of myself, so, I wanted to do something to contribute and find Sarah again.

Turns out, Usborne has become so much more than I anticipated. First of all, I love it!!! It gives me a sense of purpose. I mean, yeah, I'm needed by my kids, but I felt like I needed to do more than keep my kids alive for another day. This was it. I love books. Spreading literacy is also important to me. I was a very avid reader as a child and still am when the time allows. I want my kids to love books just as much as me. So many kids these days don't read as much as they should. Or, have access to books at home. This nations literacy statistics are appalling. You would think that by now with all of our resources, that kids would have access at home to books. They need to cut back on the electronics. Pick up a good old fashioned book and READ!!

Working with Usborne has soooo many perks. There are no real minimums that you need to meet. The only one is if you want to remain an "active" consultant, then you need to have $500 in sales over the course of three months. That's it. They give you so much to work towards. You can get free books. You can earn bonuses based on your sales. Plus, you get paid decently. You just have to work for it if you want it. And, I want it. My poor husband has to build us a new bookshelf to house all of the books that we've been accumulating. It's totally worth it. I know my girls will grow up reading. I know they will grow up learning. I just hope the love of reading stays with them through adulthood.

That being said, I do have a website if you're interested in checking it out. If you are looking to work from home for a great company, hit me up. I would love to help you get started. It has been the best decision I have made in a long time. I'm finding myself again. I'm finding purpose. I'm helping kids become readers and they need to read if they're going to be the future of our nation.

Sarah- AKA- WonderMom

Hello!!!

I'm Sarah, James' other half. I am just your average stay at home mom. I spend my days chasing an endlessly energetic toddler and calming down a very emotional 5 year old.

I enjoy reading, binge watching my favorite shows on Netflix and Hulu, scrapbooking, drinking wine, and eating chocolate. As James said, we'll focus on a few things in this blog and I cannot wait to dive in. I hope to post things that you actually enjoy reading.

If there's anything you'd like me to write about, feel free to leave a comment and I will see what I can come up with!!

Talk soon!

Roku 3 - Amazing!

We bought our Roku 3 almost a year ago now. Realizing we were using Netflix more than watching the endless commercials on Satellite, we decided to take the plunge and ordered the Roku. At the same time we subscribed to Hulu Plus. Even with paying for those two we were still saving $64ish per month compared to Satellite.

Anyways we love our Roku. It is very easy to use. My five year old can navigate Netflix with the best of them!

The only thing I would like to see added is some sort of volume control on the Roku remote. I know we could always setup a harmony universal remote and I get that they want to keep the cost down and the Roku easy to use, but still. It would be handy not to have to use a different remote every time we want the volume changed.

We bought the player before the voice search model came out so I cannot comment on that one. A quick Amazon search shows the new model is less than the old though!

James' Introduction

Hey everyone! This is James here. I hope that I can get my wife Sarah to introduce herself and start writing some blog posts. I think we are going to focus on things that make our lives easier, goals, ambitions, and probably a little family life and interests too.

I am a father of two beautiful girls; Rylee who is five and Piper who is one. I am married to my best friend and love of my life, Sarah. I enjoy a few hobbies, fish keeping, cars, and the outdoors. I will probably make some posts in the future outlining those things.

That is all for now! Have a great day!
